Who We Are

The Surfrider Kona Kai Ea is made up of volunteers just like you. Our core areas of work include: clean water, beach access, beach preservation, and protecting special places.  We believe that with a little hard work and education of those around us, we can help preserve the fragile eco-system that makes Hawaii the place we love.

The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches. Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, California, the Surfrider Foundation now maintains over 50,000 members and 90 chapters worldwide.

We invite you to join us in our mission!  Stop by a meeting, participate in a beach clean up, or just stop by and say, “Aloha” when ever you see our booth at the numerous events around the island.
