Congress is proposing to cut funding to BEACH act
Hey, folks,
Report Red Blocks!
RED BLOCKS FLOATING in the ocean should be reported to University of Hawai`i researchers who are studying currents around the Big Island. They released wooden drifters at many locations last week and are hoping that sightings will be reported to 937-4289 or hilodrifter@gmail.com

Hands Across The Sand
Join us this Saturday, June 25th, at noon, for the worlds largest demonstration to oppose off-shore oil drilling! For more information on this event and what all the fuss is about check out this link: http://www.handsacrossthesand.com/
International Surfing Day!
June 19th, Kona’s Surfriders teamed up for International Surfing Day and did some cleaning of Lymans (followed by some water time)! If you recall, we began cleaning this epic spot last year to show the communities love for Holualoa Bay and to oppose the construction of a 4-story condo! Much thanks to those, young and old (yeah…you John) for helping keep our back yard clean!
Our site is up and running!
Welcome to our site! This your site for the latest information on the Kona Kai Ea chapter of Surfrider. As the newest chapter in the Hawaiian Islands, we are stoked to have folks like you join the effort to keep our beaches accessible, clean, and fun! Check back periodically and see what we’ve been up to… or better yet… come by and help us in our efforts.
